AUD to INR trend
Asia’s fastest growing economy, India, is in good shape, but maybe not for long. Imported oil prices rose, foreign investment in India dried up, and the government stopped intervening in the currency, driving the Rupee (INR) to a 4-year low. Now the government is trying to prop up the INR again.
A plunging INR combined with a lesser drop in the AUD, means the AUD INR exchange rate has jumped 6% since the beginning of the year.

AUD to INR bank forecasts today
ANZ forecasts the AUD to INR exchange rate to end 2018 at 49.70, about 4% lower than the current rate.
National Australia Bank is not as pessimistic and expects the AUD INR exchange rate to fall slightly to 51.45 from current levels, by the end of the year.
Westpac is in-between ANZ and NAB, predicting the AUD INR exchange rate to fall to 50.30 by the end of the year.

AUD to INR long term forecasts
The bank outlooks for the AUD to INR exchange rate in 2019 is relatively flat. Most of the banks are expecting the AUD INR to fall a touch lower by the middle of 2019.
- ANZ bank has a relatively flat profile next year, with the AUD to INR rate expected to rise to 50.05 in March, then fall towards 49.70 by June.
- NAB is expecting the AUD to INR exchange rate to decline slightly to 51.00 halfway through the year.
- Westpac expects the AUD to INR rate to gradually fall to 48.02 by June next year.
